Protective masses installed by spraying have many advantages:

  • they make application of the masses easy with the use of commonly available concrete spraying equipment,
  • they do not require precise conditions of drying and heating – they are resistant to rapid increase in temperature,
  • the high efficiency of mass resulting from an increase in the concrete volume, after application on the protective layer of the tundish provides material savings of up to 10%
  • resistance to premature hardening in concrete spraying devices – the mass can be left in the gunning machine and hoses for up to six hours before re-spraying,
  • sprayed concrete does not cause problems with removal after work – the TunSpray lining has a brittle undercoat due to lower temperature losses in the material and does not agglomerate with the main lining,
  • TunSpray mix does not contain alkaline materials that might damage the principle lining

ZIRCONIUM TUNDISH NOZZLESmaf-anov-zirconium-tundish-nozzles

Dosing nozzles based on ZrO2 ensure the implementation of long sequences while maintaining dimensional stability. The internal diameter of the nozzle throughout the casting changes within acceptable limits, not exceeding a few percent compared to the nominal diameter. This is achieved through the development and implementation of special manufacturing technology, as well as the use of specific properties of zirconium dioxide, i.e. a melting temperature above 2500°C, very good thermo – chemical properties, and high resistance to abrasion. Used in the production of very pure active oxides and optimization of the process of partial stabilization of zirconium dioxide with properly conducted thermal treatment allow to obtain the desired performance characteristics of these products

  • high resistance to thermal shocks
  • high refractoriness

In order to optimize the results of the operation of mixes it is recommended that you use alkaline insulating and refining-assimilating powders produced by our company, whose composition has been designed not to react with TunSpray linings. As an insulating layer we suggest Izomix backfills for refining of baths we suggest Slagmix powders
