We offer a wide range of materials for steel ladle linings. Selection of suitable
qualities is based on a thorough analysis of destructive factors in each ladle zone and gives consideration to its operating conditions. The zonal ladle lining is the latest material solution, which includes unburned refractories with 5÷14 % carbon, as well as – for special steelmaking processes – magnesia-chrome refractories with 14÷22 % chrome.

Research facilities owned by our Company enables us to make trials which simulate operating conditions and guarantees the possibility of an individual selection of materials, taking into account the latest trends and scientific achievements in the field of refractory materials.

Gas Purging Systems for Steel Ladles

Major objectives of the argon treatment of steel during its secondary treatment comprise:

  • removing of harmful gases (such as oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen) dissolved in the steel melt through their diffusion into argon bubbles;
  • purification of steel from non-metallic oxide inclusions by their transportation to the melt surface and passing them into the slag;
  • homogenisation of the chemical composition of steel;
  • equalisation of the temperature distribution in the whole volume of the steel melt;
  • control of the steel casting temperature.

The most important requirements which must be met by gas-purging blocks are:

  • operational safety;
  • service reliability;
  • long service life;
  • easy and rapid replacement of a worn block.

The manufacturing process of gas-purging blocks developed in our facility ensures a repeatability of obtained operational parameters, as well as the possibility to tailor their gas permeability to the customers’ requirements. In order to ensure its operational reliability, each manufactured block is checked for its gas permeability, as well as for the tightness of its welded joints.

We employ the EN ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 management systems in the domain of design, manufacture and supply of basic refractory materials.

Individual selection of refractory materials is possible in coordination with the customer.

Each plug is equipped with an indicator which shows its wear degree. The wear indicator in form of a visible square or circle appearing in the centre of the plug’s top surface is a sign that it has to be replaced.
